Several Caribbean curators were invited on the 14th of December 2023 to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge to see Caribbean collections there and to discuss various topics related to collections, management, organization, repatriation and decolonization.

The visitors included Marsha Pearce, lecturer in Viuseual Arts and the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, Alissandra Cummins, Director of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, Christelle Lozère, Professor of Art History at l’Université Antilles in Martinique, and Susana Guimarães, curator of archaeology, Musee d'archéologie amérindienne Edgar Clerc, Guadeloupe. Also, present was Mary Hill Harris, who has many decades of experiences with Caribbean collections in the Caribbean and at the MAA.

During the event, Jimena Lobo Guerrero Arenas and Oliver Antczak selected a few representative boxes from the MAA collections and discussed the 'Whispers of the Caribbean' project. Useful ideas were exchanged, including discussions on labelling and the multilingual and political make-up of the Caribbean.
